Wetherby Light Music Singers were formed in 1976 by a small group (Shirley Yates, Hugh Greaves & friends) who enjoyed singing light music and wanted to be part of a four-part choir. Many will remember Shirley singing her wonderful solos and Hugh with his mellifluous tenor voice in his moving and sincere singing of 'Danny Boy'. Since formation, we have given many concerts in the area, the majority of which have been in aid of a variety of charities.

Wetherby Light Music Singers celebrated our 40th anniversary in 2016 having been continuously active since 1976. We hope to reach our 50th anniversary in a couple of years time! 

 

We sing a wonderful range of music from classics to pop songs, and often include songs from musicals & films.

Throughout the years, our passion for music has continued through a constantly evolving membership and is currently led by Martin Hewitt  (our Musical Director & accompanist extraordinaire).

Wetherby Light Music Singers have just under 40 enthusiastic singers and friends who enjoy singing together.
We practice on Wednesday evenings and are often busy rehearsing new songs or programmes for upcoming shows.
